Tips on fitting a horse bridleHome -> Archive -> Fitting a horse bridleA horse bridle is one of the key parts of tack that is used when riding. It is important that you fit the horse bridle correctly otherwise your mount may start exhibiting symptoms of discomfort such as head tossing and misbehaving. Step by step guide to fitting a horse bridle Put the reins over your horse's head and lay them on his neck Hold the crownpiece of the horse bridle above his nose with one hand whilst holding the cheek pieces with the other Guide the bit into his mouth, applying gentle pressure to the bars of his mouth with your fingers if he needs encouragement to open it Place the crownpiece over his ears and pull the forelock over the brow band Fasten the throatlatch, leaving space enough for four fingers to slip underneath Fasten the noseband, leaving space enough for two fingers to slip underneath A beautiful selection of bridles and other horse tack at Dogwood We are proud of the fact that our collection includes nothing but the best in horse bridles and tack.
