It is very important to take great care of your horse tack as many parts are made of leather, which can easily be damaged if not washed and oiled regularly. If you have bought synthetic tack it can be washed in the washing machine. Synthetic tack is useful for everyday wear but is frowned upon in some eventing circles. Leather tack is the traditional option and many riders choose leather because if it is cared for properly it can last for many years.
