New Show Jumping rules ring changes for horse boots for young horses

The new British Showjumping rules introduced for young horses will mean a change of horse boots for all those jumping in specific age related classes this summer and onwards.

The new rules state:

“For Talent Seekers, Newcomers 2nd Rounds and Foxhunter 2nd Rounds (effective 24 April 2012 onwards) and all Age Classes (effective from British Young Horse Championships at Addington 2012 onwards).

The total maximum weight of equipment allowed to be added to a horse’s leg, front or hind or multiple boots, fetlock rings etc is 500g.

All hind leg protections must have a maximum interior length of 16cm and minimum exterior width of 5cm.

The inside protection must be smooth, the fixations must be non elastic Velcro fasteners, no hooks or straps may be used. The rounded rigid part of the protection must be placed around the inside of the fetlock. No additional elements may be used in conjunction with the protection. Bandages are not permitted.

Failure to comply will incur disqualification.”

However, do not fret as Veredus has released the Young-Jump boot, a fetlock protector that complies with International rules for “young horses”. Anatomically shaped with an impact resistant shell, the Veredus Young-Jump horse boot will keep your horse safe while complying with rules, giving you peace of mind in all areas.
