The Baron range of leather luggage and shooting accessories has been made exclusively for the most discerning clientele. Established in 1978, the Swedish company started their quest for the perfect luggage when the experienced traveller, Claes Ekman was asked to accompany a friend on buying quality business luggage. Claes soon realised there was a gap in the market when it came to finding that perfect briefcase, and he took it upon himself to design beautiful leather luggage for clients all over the world.
Since the start of the company, Baron has moved further than anyone could have expected. In 2001 the company joined a larger group, bringing new designs and ideas to the table and the new collections were born. Baron then moved onto product placement in movies, such as the feature film, ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’, moving the brand from strength to strength with the impact and awareness of Baron sky rocketing.
However, the popularity comes as no surprise when looking at the work that goes into each and every Baron product. Baron use ancient techniques in the heart of Tuscany, where patience in treating the leather is a key factor. A 30 day process sees healthy animal leather being emerged in natural tree, plant and animal fat oils and slowly rotated in wooden tumble barrels for the ultimate tannage process. A unique technique is then used where the leather is cut, prepared and ironed to give shine while it passing through large, heated rolls made from granite stone.
