Soon you will be able to jump into your horse's saddle from the comfort of your own living room thanks to a new controller being developed for the Nintendo Wii.

The 'horseback riding saddle' will involve riders rocking and bouncing atop an inflatable saddle which is used to sense movement.

Although the saddle may not have the look and feel of a Stubben dressage saddle, the controller does however allow equestrians to choose their choice of steed be it a horse, camel, elephant, whale or unicorn. The seat can even simulate a hang glider, Jet Ski or magic carpet.

The game is also rumoured to display the back of a horse's head, the background of a trail, a field or even a battlefield depending on the type of terrain the rider prefers.

No doubt as the cold weather begins to set in, the controllers will prove very popular among the less hardy horse riders who would rather enjoy the delight of being atop a horse saddle in the warmth of their living room.
