Horseware Ireland, makers of the highly popular Rambo horse rugs range have promised to commit 500,000 euro to the equestrian sector over the next four years.
Their main funding will be focused on the creation of new 'Team Ireland' horse and rider kit and clothing range which will be provided to all Ireland's equestrian squads and their coaches for the next four years.
The remainder of the support will come in the form of sponsorship for promising riders right at the start of their equestrian careers. This includes riders competing in the Premier Grand prix and pony Grand prix at Louth County Show, the Horseware Young Event Horse Series and the Horseware Amateur Showjumping Championships.
Horse Sport Chairman, Joe Walsh said that he was "delighted" to launch the new 'Team Ireland' line and noted the huge commitment the horse rug manufacturers have shown to Irish equestrian sport.
Horseware's boost to the Irish equestrian sector is hoped to bring the country some medals in the 2012 London Olympics. Perhaps a new Rambo Olympic horse rugs or horse blanket will be made for the occasion?
