No doubt requiring horse tack in extra large, Remington, a Dallas-area Clydesdale is now officially the world's tallest horse.
Standing at six feet, eight inches, or around 20hh, Remington has just pipped the old record holder Radar by about an inch.
Measurements of his gigantic size, with and without shoes, had to be taken and sent along with photos, videos and witness statements to support his unbelievable height to Guinness World Records to prove his great height. However, he will only be able to claim the record until paperwork of a taller horse is sent in.
As well as requiring extra big equestrian equipment, Remington also needs a massive amount of food. The gentle giant gets through two square bales of hay a day, nine quarts of grain twice a day and 40 gallons of water, as well as a healthy supply of peppermint treats. His owner describes him as a cross between a feisty teenager and a big, playful dog. He has also acquired plenty of nicknames from 'Stomach on Stilts' to 'the Woolly Mammoth'.
Owning such a big horse can be troublesome however. Within a few months of having him, Remington trod on his owner's foot causing her to have to wear an orthopaedic shoe for several months. He is also guilty of pulling out a small tree from his field to play with, pulling out a gate with his nose and knocking off an air conditioning unit from his owner's house.
As well as being troublesome to turn out, Remington also requires a reinforced steel trailer to cope with his great weight and custom made horse equipment and horse tack.
