Barbour wax jacket makers try their hand at decorating brasHome -> News -> Barbour factory workers decorate bras for breast cancer researchWorkers at the Barbour factory in South Shields have shown their support for breast cancer research by decorating bras for the Playtex MoonWalk. The Playtex MoonWalk is a 26.2 mile power walk around London, which takes place at night on the 19th May 2007. Each of the 15,000 participants will be wearing flamboyantly and elaborately decorated bras to raise money for breast cancer charities. Walk the Walk, which organises the event, supplied the country clothing manufacturer with 10 bras to decorate. The girls at Barbour's wax jacket factory soon picked up the challenge and 10 teams came up with designs for the bras. The best two were picked by Helen Barbour. These were named the Barbour bra and the Emmerdale bra, with the latter to be sent to Emmerdale cast members for signing. Helen Barbour commented: "The standard has been extremely high and there are some very creative and inspirational designs. "While it has been very difficult to pick out two winners, we hope that the bras we have chosen will raise lots of money for breast cancer when they are auctioned in October."
