BHS secures bridle way access

The British Horse Society (BHS) has come to the rescue after part of a bridle way in Lincolnshire came under threat.

A planning application saw the safe horse riding access that crossed the A17 near Boston put in jeopardy because of a new construction of industrial buildings and car park.

The senior executive of the British Horse Society said: “If the application had been successful, riders would, after crossing the road, have had to pass through a yard where HGV’s would be making deliveries, obstructing the line of the bridle way.”

The BHS along with other horse riders and equestrian enthusiasts lodged objections at a council meeting on the 24 July which subsequently led the Boston Borough Council to reject the planning application.

The bridle way situated near Boston has links to the British Horse Society National Bridle-Route Network.
