Equestrian eventing stars go off-roadHome -> News -> Equestrian eventing stars treated to a days off road driving courseBritain's gold medal winning eventing team were given a rare non equestrian treat in the form of an off-road driving day courtesy of Land Rover. Zara Phillips, Daisy Dick and Georgie Davies, along with Burghley winner William Fox Pitt and young rider European team gold medallist Georgie Spence, were all paired up to tackle the challenging off road track in Herefordshire. It proved to be as challenging and adrenalin fuelled as any cross country course, with Daisy Dick commenting: 'I thought the cross country in three-day eventing was pretty scary but this has certainly got the adrenaline going. It has been brilliant trying to outdo each other.' Part of the challenges that faced them included reversing a horse trailer around a course of obstacles, tackling an off-road course and driving round a course blindfolded with their co-driver giving instructions. Zara commented on the experience: 'It has been a great day but surprisingly mentally straining. The blindfold activity was quite scary, you lose all bearings and control.'
