Dressage horse shows reach a new virtual levelHome -> News -> New online dressage horse show open to all horse ridersA new website has been devised for all you budding dressage riders out there. Opened by the Pony Riders Association (PRA) the site is devised to help those that may not be able to travel to horse shows, who get too overcome by nerves or those that simply wish to prepare a horse for a competition and see how they ‘virtually’ rank against other dressage riders. All the proceeds from the virtual event’s entry fee will go to the Cancer Laryngectomee Trust (CLT). The overall winner will receive a £50 voucher for Cavaletti equestrian clothing and all class winners will get a fleece sweatshirt with rosettes up to sixth place. Carole Stainton, one of the trustee’s of the CLT commented: “This competition is open to anyone of any age group (provided they have not achieved more than 38 British Dressage points), and you can do it in your own time and in your own arena.” The benefit of such an event is that as long as you have the correct horse tack (a saddle, bridle and of course a horse to ride) then there is nothing to stop you from entering the online dressage horse show. The show's requirement is that it should be carried out in a 20x40m arena with a choice of dressage tests. Either the Pony Club walk and trot test D; British Dressage preliminary one and seven; and novice 21 and 28. All tests are then judged in their respective categories by a British Dressage judge. All entries must be submitted by 20 October with entry fees being £6.50 per class and £5.50 per class for Pony Riders Association or Cancer Laryngectomee members. To enter the virtual dressage competition one can obtain a schedule from www.cancerlt.org. |
