Bid to revise London equestrian facilities

The British Equestrian Federation is in talks with the Federation Legacy for London Advisory Group to set out plans for equestrian sports in London after the 2012 Olympics.

The plan includes key recommendations that concern how equestrian facilities constructed for the 2012 games could subsequently be used to facilitate opportunities for horse riding in the London area.

Included in these suggestions is the setting up of new riding schools in a bid to create a ‘London Horse Network’, which would support local horse riders and develop an equestrian programme for school children in the capital.

The British Equestrian Federation is now creating a legacy group that will draw up a five-year plan based on the recommendations of the Federation Legacy for London Advisory Group.
