Online stable cam offered for new equestrian facilityHome -> News -> State of the art equestrian facilities for welsh farmA farming couple from Wales have embarked on an ambitious technological plan for a new horse stable development at their beef and sheep farm near Aberystwyth. Having had a redundant building on their farm, Mr and Mrs Owen decided to put it to use by diversifying into the equestrian sector and creating a state of the art stable complex for horse lovers to keep their beloved animals in. The new equestrian facility will have infrared cameras in each of the 12 stables so owners will be able to check on their horses even when they are away from the yard. The cameras will be linked to the internet and each owner will have a secure login that will enable them to gain access to their horse’s particular camera. Mr Owen stated: “It’s good to use cutting edge technologies with old fashioned stabling – the two are from opposite ends of the spectrum yet go hand in hand.” In addition to stabling, the equestrian facility will include a ménage, fields for them to graze in and secure horse tack room where saddles, bridles, horse rugs, riding boots and all manner of leather horse equipment can be stored. Of the changing shape of their rural farm, Mrs Owen stated: “It would be a shame not to be open-minded and move forward (with the times).” The equestrian set up as Penuwch farm will be available for do-it-yourself liveries. |
