The people of Wigan will be donning their favourite country footwear this Sunday 10 June 2007 in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The Wig n’ Wellies Walk takes place at Haigh Hall, and is part of a worldwide initiative entitled ‘Great Strides’ that aims to get as many people as possible walking to see off Cystic Fibrosis.

The Wig n’ Wellies walk is designed for all age groups and levels of fitness. The 5km walk has no time limit so it’s up to you whether you wanted to waddle in your wellies or power welly walk to the finishing line.

The Great Strides initiative is supported by a number of celebrities including ex-England goalie David Seaman MBE as well as ‘bra-less’ TV gardener Charlie Dimmock. They are lending their support to raise enough funds to aid the 7, 500 people with Cystic Fibrosis in the UK.

Come rain or shine, there is no excuse not to be out in your Wig n’ Wellies in the beautiful country surroundings of Wigan’s Haigh hall or any other site across the UK.
