Numnahs for all horse riding activities

A numnah is a protective pad which is worn underneath the saddle. Numnahs help to keep the saddle clean and sweat free while riding. It is also known as a saddle pad and cushions your horse's back so that the saddle does not chafe or cut in.

Dogwood have put together a superb collection of numnahs ranging from practical numnahs for everyday horse riding to beautiful numnahs suitable for show and dressage purposes. Fitting your Dogwood numnah

Fit your saddle correctly first
Slide your hand under the front of the saddle flap to check that there is room for the numnah
Remove the saddle and place the numnah on the horse, slightly in front of the saddle patch
Lay it evenly and check that none of the straps are caught up
Put the saddle back on and make sure that the saddle and numnah are sitting neatly
Check that the numnah is not making the saddle fit too tightly
Make sure that there is a clear margin of numnah around the saddle. It is too small if it is sitting on the binding around the edge
Check that the girth strap is tightened and that everything is in place
