A traditionally-designed dressage saddle created from fine quality leather finished with aniline for gentle breaking in. Added comfort for both horse and rider with unique stirrup bar positioning and adjustable thigh and knee support.
A super dressage saddle that enhances both the performance of the horse and that of the rider, whilst still being extremely comfortable. Of traditional design but with advanced systems to get the most out of horse and rider, this is one of the best saddles for dressage work. Its uniquely positioned stirrup bars encourage the rider to assume the correct dressage riding position and the Flexibloc system allows adjustment of the thigh and knee support for both grip and support. As with most Bates saddles, it has the EASY-CHANGE gullet system, which allows the gullet of the saddle to be changed quickly and easily for a perfect fit. The saddle is firmly secured front and back by the adjustable Y-girthing system. It has the CAIR panel system, which allows the riders weight to be distributed evenly across the panels, instead of focused in pressure points that can be uncomfortable for the horse. The elastiflex tree allows flexible movement between the horses muscles and is guaranteed for the life of the saddle. The saddle is made from quality leather finished with pure Aniline. It is incredibly soft and supple, and a pleasure to use for both horse and rider. |

A premium horse saddle collection
A horse saddle is one of the most important pieces of horse tack that a rider will buy and a careful decision should be made as to what type to choose. Many riders use a standard English saddle for everyday riding and use a specific type of horse saddle for a certain event or activity. These include dressage saddles, jumping saddles, endurance saddles, racing saddles, and polo saddles.
Two types of horse saddle
Dressage saddles require riders to have a longer leg so differ from a standard horse saddle in several features. The flap is longer and in a less forward position, and the seat is set closer to the withers. The Bates Caprilli Dressage and the Wintec 500 Dressage are two such dressage saddles in the Dogwood range.
A jumping saddle has a flap that is shorter and more forward than that of a dressage saddle because the rider tends to lean forward on the horse. It also has a seat that is placed further towards the cantle for maximum stability. The Wintec Pro Jump is a horse saddle within the Dogwood range that is designed for jumping.
