The jodhpur boot, also sometimes known as the paddock boot, is a type of short ankle length riding boot that is ideally suited to everyday yard activity. The jodhpur boot’s advantages over long riding boots are its versatility. They can be used for all those daily chores like mucking out and walking the dogs as well as for schooling, hacking and, when combined with smart matching gaiters, for horse shows.

The technology that is contained within our range of jodhpur boots rivals that of the big sport shoe companies. It is not uncommon to see ankle supports, orthotic supports, self cleaning treads, cushioned soles, waterproof leather and secure fastening zips used throughout our range of jodhpur boots.

When it comes to horse riding, jodhpur boots combine perfectly with either chaps or gaiters. By Whichever you choose to use, you essentially create the feel and security you get from a long leather riding boot but without the cumbersome immovability when you are not in the saddle. Generally speaking, there are four types of fastening on jodhpur boots: the front zip, the back zip, lacing and pull-on. Whilst most jodhpur boots do feature elastic to the sides of the ankle to provide flexibility and comfort when riding, there may or may not be extra fastening to ensure a neat fit. Boots such as the De Niro Traiano T101 have a rear zip and front lacing as well as the stretchy side panels, whilst in contrast the De Niro Claudio T107 only has a front zip.
