The Hunter Abernethy is an extremely resilient, 100% waterproof rubber Wellington boot. The neoprene version is particularly suitable for extreme conditions and rough terrain. Ideal for those who push their wellies to the limit.

A knee-length rubber wellington boot that is ideal for 100% protection against mud and water. A half length gusset allows easy access and a customisable calf fit.

The footbed of the Hunter Abernethy has added cushioning for extra comfort, as well as an advanced dual density sole that absorbs impact shock.

This boot is available in two designs: standard and neoprene. The standard nylon-lined version is an all-weather boot that is designed to handle heavy duty work.

The 5 mm sponge neoprene-lined version of this Hunter Wellington boot provides very good insulation and is ideal for use in extreme weather and cold, as well as on rough terrain.

The first type of sole is common to the Original for both adults and children, the Huntsman and the Huntress. This is a classic calendered outsole, made from smooth, supple rubber and designed to self-clean so it wont pick up so much dirt on your Hunter Wellington boots. It is an all-purpose sole that performs well whether you are walking along a muddy country footpath or hiking up slippery slopes.

The next type of sole is the classic commando-style outsole, which is more common in Hunter Wellington boots that are designed for shooting, such as the Sovereign. It is made from hardened rubber that has been welted and vulcanised for extra strength and elasticity. This sole has a wide heel, which ensures excellent stability and it is ideal for use on all types of terrain, allowing you to roam freely when out shooting.

A third type of sole found on Hunter Wellington boots is the dual density, which is found on the Galloway and the Abernethy. It combines natural and styrene butadiene rubber to form a superbly tough sole, whilst also having a soft mid-ply with cavities in the heel that provide shock absorption. Wellies with the dual density sole are designed for use on rough ground such as stony, bumpy hillsides.
